BRDC F4 News: Jedi Champion Lang graduates to BRDC F4

BRDC F4 LogoFormula Jedi Champion Jack Lang will make the switch to the BRDC Formula 4 Championship for 2015 as an independent driver with family-run outfit Lang Sport.

The 18-year-old is moving up to the series after claiming 10 podium finishes from 14 races on his way to the 2014 Formula Jedi title. He took victory in the final two races of the season to snatch the crown from his rivals.

The Thetford-based youngster began his motorsport career racing karts in 2009, competing in both the Mini Max and Junior Max categories. He took part in the Formula One Management-supported Formula Kart Stars in 2011, acquitting himself well on his way to claiming a top 10 finish in the series. Lang also competed in the British Super One Championship before moving into single-seaters in 2013 with Formula Jedi.

Following an initial year spent honing his skills, eventually finishing third in the standings, Lang improved in 2014 to take his maiden victory at Rockingham before back-to-back wins on the Silverstone International circuit sealed the title.

Lang commented: “I am thrilled to be joining the BRDC F4 Championship for 2015. I know it’s going to be a steep learning curve but after sealing the Formula Jedi crown last season, I’m confident we can pick up some good results. We’re only a small team but with the very reasonable budget requirements for BRDC F4, I’m sure we will be competitive. I’ve already tested the car and I absolutely loved it so I can’t wait to get the season underway.”
