Sahara Force India had a starring role in the Canadian Grand Prix as Sergio Perez challenged for victory until the closing laps of the race. Sadly he was the innocent victim of a high-speed crash on the final lap (after contact with Felipe Massa). After medical checks at Sacre Coeur hospital in Montreal, he was discharged. Adrian Sutil drove a race without any special issues and finished in 13th place, while Esteban Gutiérrez stopped shortly before the end of the race due to a problem with the energy storage system. Following the accident between Sergio Perez and Felipe Massa on the final lap of the Canadian Grand Prix, it has been confirmed that both of the drivers extricated themselves from their cars and were immediately transferred to the medical centre for preliminary checks. The results of these checks were entirely positive.

However as a purely precautionary measure they were both transferred to Sacre Coeur hospital for further examination. Both of them have been discharged.
