F1 News: Jerez Test D4 – Lotus F1 Team

Lotus LogoLotus F1 Team concluded its first pre-season test at the Circuito de Jerez with Romain Grosjean getting his first taste of the E23 Hybrid. Over the course of 53 laps, Romain set a best lap of 1min 23.802secs. The team continued with its installation and functionality checks as well as initial performance assessments. The team stopped running early after Power Unit running data showed that a problem was developing. Read more of this post

Lotus LogoLotus F1 Team enjoyed a productive day of testing at the Circuito de Jerez with Pastor Maldonado completing 96 laps, setting a best time of 1min 22.713secs. The team continued with installation and functionality checks with the E23 Hybrid as well as initial performance assessments. Romain Grosjean will get his first taste of the E23 tomorrow. Romain Grosjean completed the final race lap for the Lotus F1 Team E22 by finishing in thirteenth position in the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, whilst Pastor Maldonado had to park his car early after flames from the rear of his E22 indicated his race was over on lap 26. Both drivers showed good race pace, with Pastor running strongly before his race demise and Romain fighting back from grid and drive-through penalties. Read more of this post

Lotus F1 Team completed the final qualifying session of the 2014 FIA Formula 1 World Championship season with Romain Grosjean sixteenth fastest and Pastor Maldonado eighteenth at Yas Marina for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Lotus F1 Team Junior driver Esteban drove Romain’s car in the daytime FP1 session whilst Romain returned to partner Pastor in the evening FP2 session. Both cars ran reliably throughout today. Pastor enjoyed improved pace from his E22 all day at the Circuit of the Americas and was unlucky not to make it into the top ten qualifying session. He moves forward an extra position because of a grid penalty for Jenson Button.
